  Mindful Self Care Programs

mindfulness and compassion-based courses for doctors and healthcare professionals

Peace.

It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work.
It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

                                                                                                                                                         ~ unknown

The 6 week courses are designed for medical and healthcare staff who need a time friendly introduction to mindfulness and compassionate self care.

Practising 15 minute guided meditations daily and cultivating mindfulness in daily life under the guidance of an experienced mindfulness teacher has been shown to be helpful in reducing stress.

Learning the skills of self compassion reduces self criticism and allows us to be more wisely compassionate to others.
Both are practices that allow participants to see if they resonate as an ongoing practice of self care.

The 6 week offerings can then be a stepping stone to a lifelong self care practice enriched by longer courses and teachings along the way.

These courses have been designed by an experienced mindfulness and self-compassion teacher who is also a  practicing doctor.
They have been successfully used in a range of healthcare settings since 2013, and have also been adapted for use in educational, legal and other settings.

The COVID-19 pandemic meant finding flexible and safe ways to make the courses accessible online via zoom classrooms.
Face to face groups are being carefully reintroduced in Adelaide.
Details are available in the calendar
